The CHES satellite consists of a satellite platform and a payload, which is divided into three parts: the service module, the propulsion module and the payload module. The satellite platform is mainly composed of structure, thermal control, power supply, telemetry/data transmission, attitude and orbit control, satellite management unit (SMU) and other sub-systems, providing energy, communication, thermal control and other operations for the payload. The payload is an optical telescope with high image quality, high stability and low distortions, including the optical system, the focal plane, the temperature controller, the frequency-stabilised laser and the data-processing system.
